The OAC administered the peer review process of the program on behalf of the partners. A total of 51 applications were received from across the province. "We are impressed with the large number of Ontarians from all walks of life who were interested in working closely with artists on projects significant to their communities," said Diane Labelle-Davey, Director of Arts Development at OAC. "Just as artists and arts organizations are financing their work from several sources, arts funders are forging partnerships with the private sector and other funders to support large scale artistic and community initiatives," added Nathan Gilbert, Executive Director of the Laidlaw Foundation. The partners will participate in the evaluation process which will determine the benefits of these kinds of collaborations. This program was developed to support innovative collaborations between professional artists and non-arts organizations or groups which engage in the creative process to advance a community goal. -30- For more information, please contact: Kirsten Gunter, Communications Coordinator (416) 969-7403 or toll free in Ontario at 1-800-387-0058 ext.7403 email kgunter@arts.on.ca Ce document existe, egalenient en francais. |
