It provides a way for communities to express themselves; engages artists, through financial or other supports, to engage in creative activity with communities; and is collaborative - the creative process is equally important as the artistic outcome. Once upon a time: Art Jam started as an Artist and Community Pilot Project. Four projects in Ontario received funding. Art Jam has been in the provincial spotlight and has surpassed the expectations of the original funders. At this time, we are funded by The Laidlaw Foundation, The Canada Council, The Ontario Arts Council, The Toronto Arts Council OPIRG and Canada Trust Friends of the Environment. The Guelph Aids Committee, The Guelph Multicultural Centre, The Guelph Arts Council and The Upper Grand School District are non funding partners in this project. The Formula: Its a Jam. Simple. We get a bunch of paint, some recycled items to paint and a whack of people, kids for kid jams and grownups for grownup jams. We play great music. You play great games. Everyone paints with nary a paint brush in sight. Now were Jammin . Art Jammin. If this sounds like a great idea to you and you are a grownup, check out corporate page. If you are a kid, check out our summer camp and Art Jam for the schools page. Just curious, find the links in the Art Jam panorama and enjoy the adventure.
